Tuesday
First day at the Wicomico Office. Today I was actually assigned to a different task. In the morning, I met with Emily Zobel and Macy Cook to tend to the kale fields. Here we were just checking to make sure that the kale fields are ready for their pesticide trials. I also helped Lindsay to plant some watermelons.
Aside from that, the three of us went to check Haley's berry project. The blackberries were only starting to form fruit so we rested the canes against the wire. The blueberries, however, actually started to blue. They were really tasty.
I also met a lot of people at the Wicomico Office. I am still trying to figure out my I-9 stuff so Diane Lewis is real helpful in navigating the transition into employment.
After that, I worked on both the raspberry factsheet and handling scheduling for the MACAA tour.

Thursday
Volunteering at the Junior Achievement Center. Today, I did a tabling event about soil science. Nearby students were going on a field trip to visit the center. At the UMD Extension table, kids could make a dirt cake using M&Ms, Oreos, pudding, gummy worms, and sprinkles.

Friday
The Somerset Office is rather rainy today. Today, I mostly worked on the factsheet since I was unable to do inventory today.
Previously, I have worked in the student government association at Salisbury University. Therefore, I would say that working on a team and being able to represent extension will be helpful throughout the internship. My main goals are to connect with the other interns and people in the AgFS team. So far, being able to meet people from other offices has been helping to fulfill that goal.
Based on the last AgFS meeting, I am interested in learning more about agrivoltaics as I believe putting solar panels on pre-existing human infrastructure will help minimize future land loss.
